The Effingham Athletic Department runs an Athlete of the Month program each month. Athletes are nominated by head coaches and then voted on by all coaches. Winners receive recognition and a Treign Athlete of the Month shirt. Nomination criteria is as follows: Stats, Accomplishments, Character, Coachability, Leadership and Sportsmanship.
Kynlie Rohr — JH Cross Country (7th Grade)
Kynlie has truly stepped up as a leader this year. Building on her outstanding season as a sixth-grader, she has put in the work and elevated her performance even further — leading the girls in every race so far. With only a few meets under her belt, she has already surpassed her personal best from last year. Beyond her results, Kynlie strives to give her best effort every day and goes out of her way to make new runners feel welcome and valued on the team. She is dependable, selfless, and someone I can always count on to get things done the right way. Iām excited to see what the rest of the season holds for her, because I know she has what it takes to keep the momentum going and achieve even more. — Coach Nancy Ervin
Roman Martin — JH Baseball (8th Grade)
This kid is the glue that holds our team together. His work ethic and leadership is outstanding. Over the past two seasons I’ve had four coaches say to me “man I would love to have your catcher”. He’s a wall behind the plate. I’ve also had several umpires brag on the job he does and say that he makes their job easy. — Coach Rod Wiethop
