URBANA — Area horsemen took to the track at the Champaign County Fair Tuesday.
Once again, driver Wyatt Avenatti was at the top of the victories, claiming five wins on the day.
Avenatti claimed back-to-back victories in the second and third races of the day. In the second race, the ISA 2-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Pace, Avenatti was behind Fox Valley Onassis. The pair went the distance in 2:03.0. Brian Loman, Bart Seales and Andrew Miller are the owners.
He then picked up the third race, the ISA 2-Year-Old Filly Trot, behind Broadway And Lou. The pair claimed the win in 2:13.0.
Avenatti won the fifth race, the ISA 3-Year-Old Filly Pace behind Fox Valley Lava. The pair won with a time of 2:01.2.
His fourth victory was in the eighth race, the ISA 2-Year-Old Filly Pace, Division 1. Avenatti guided Fox Valley Barbie to the win for owners Bart Seales and Penny White.
Avenatti won Race 10, the Topline 3-Year-Old & Up Pace. He guided Great Seats to the victory in 1:59.
Kevin Miller was the trainer in three of those races. Miller trained Fox Valley Onassis, Fox Valley Lava and Fox Valley Barbie.
Guiding four horses to victory was Jamaica Patton. Patton won behind Jim’s Big Boy in the ISA 3-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Pace in the sixth race. The duo won in 2:02.1. He then claimed the seventh race, leading One Trip Chip to the victory in the ISA 3-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Trot. The pair won in 2:07.0.
Patton won behind Variant in the ISA 2-Year-Old FIlly Pace Division 2. The ninth race of the card went to the pair in 2:03 2/5. Bart Seales is the owner.
The next victory Patton chalked up was the ISA 3-Year-Old Filly Trot. Toughestofthetough was the winner in 2:09.0 for Patton.
