 St. Anthony Finishes Third At State Junior High Girls Golf Tourney

METAMORA — Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School captured third place at the State Girls Golf Tournament at Metamora Fields Thursday.

Winning the tournament was Rockford Christian with a 364 followed by Quincy St. Peter 365, St. Anthony 401, Peoria Christian 404, New Lenox Martino 430 and Metamora 450.

Allister Amedio of New Lenox Martino claimed first place with a 71.

Scoring for champion Rockford Christian were Adriana Milos 40-43 — 83, Brooke Cizerle 41-43 — 84, AJ Reese 48-39 — 87 and Gianna Milos 58-52 — 110.

St. Anthony’s Charlotte Sprecher finished tied for sixth with a 40-40 — 80.

Also competing for the Bullpups were Brynn Weber 56-46 — 102, Nora Brumleve 52-52 — 104 and Elle Bierman 55-60 — 115.

“They are super excited and proud of it,” said St. Anthony Coach Jonathan Brumleve. “This is the first ever state podium finish for the girls program. Also, Charlotte Sprecher’s tied-for-sixth finish is now the best individual girls finish in St. Anthony history and the school’s first girls individual top-10 medal.”
