Carson Tribout of Belleville Althoff Catholic, scored a 66 to finish with medalist honors.

“It was a great day for golf at Edwardsville,” said EHS Coach Jeff Schafer. “But we just didn’t bring our best today. There was a lot of great competition but we shot our second highest score of the year and really weren’t that far off. Our bright spot was Jack Swingler playing a great round of golf finishing third overall and qualifying for this weekend’s State Tournament. On the bad note, we are going to really miss Cannon and Brody. Both have been in the lineup a lot since their freshman years and have been a big part of our success for the past four years Allyn Koester is going to be graduating also. They will all be missed.”

Advancing to the Class 1A State Tournament Friday and Saturday will be St. Anthony as a team and Effingham’s Jack Swingler. The State Tournament will be held at Weibring Golf Club in Normal.
