MOUNT VERNON — Teutopolis High School set a new school record in boys golf action Monday at Green Hills Country Club.
The Wooden Shoes won their first stroke play tournament in school history and set a record even par of 284 to claim the seven team event.
Hamilton County was second with a 315 total while Carmi White County took third with a 340.
T-town’s Coen Pennington was match medalist with a new school record 63. Isaac Weber tied for second with a 69. Kade Pennington tied for fourth with a 74 and Matthew Habing tied for 10th with a 78. Landyn Thoele and Owen Kremer both shot 80. Lane Ohnesorge also medaled as an individual with a 77.
“It was a great night for the Shoes,” said Coach Mike Wilson. “We made school history with the record 284.”
Teutopolis junior varsity was in action in a dual against St. Anthony at Fore-Way Golf Course. St. Anthony had a 152 and Teutopolis a 174.
Karson Zerrusen led the Shoes with a 40, Landon Huber 41, Ben Sandschafer 43, Blake Vahling, Mason Thompson and Bo Kreke all shot a 50.
The Shoes’ junior varsity will travel to Pana today.
At Robinson
Effingham St. Anthony played a three-team boys golf match at Quail Creek Golf Course Monday.
The Bulldogs tallied a 156 followed by Robinson 178 and Mount Carmel 179.
Robinson’s Ben Coonce and St. Anthony’s James Trupiano, Maddux Clark, Jameson McAllaster and Drake Brown all scored a 39 each.

St. Anthony’s junior varsity played against Teutopolis at Fore-Way Golf Course and finished with a 152-174 victory.
Liam McAllaster and Andrew Meyer had a 37 each for the Bulldogs. Trenton Sandschafer finished with a 38 and Cole Adams a 40. Daniel Ramos had a 41 and Marcus Geen a 54.
At Flora
North Clay’s Jacob Arnold competed at the Clay County Country Club had scored a 51 Monday.
