SULLIVAN — Teutopolis High School edged Effingham 185-186 in a high school girls golf match Thursday at the Sullivan Country Club.
The Wooden Shoes put together a 185 score led by Molly Habing, who was the medalist, with a 42 followed by Brileigh Bloemer 46, Halle Bushue 48 and Olivia Wermert 49. Others competing for the Shoes included Brooke Thoele 51 and Sophia Martin 60.
Effingham was led by Makenna Mayhood with a 42 followed by Ella Tuman 46, Kylie Pryor 47 and Natalie Armstrong 48. Kennedy Tolliver recorded a 56.
Sullivan had only three players. Kate Bushue had a 47 followed by Devon Richardson 51 and Joanna Rickleman 60.
Teutopolis won a boys junior varsity triangular over Sullivan and Arthur Christian.
The Shoes shot a 184. Medalist was Jack Weber with a 44. Also scoring were Mason Thompson 46, Gavin Althoff 47 and Landon Huber 47.
Others competing were Drew Kirby 48, Bo Kreke 50, Karson Zerrusen 51, Jacob Probst 51, Camden Mette 56 and Blake Vahling 58.
At Tuscola
Altamont competed in boys and girls action at Tuscola Thursday.
In the boys meet, Tuscola won with 180 followed by Mount Zion B team 184, Altamont 192, Marshall 199 and Argenta-Oreana 204.
Scoring for Altamont were Evan Elam, a sophomore, with a 45, freshman Mason Schaub 47, senior Joel Bauer 49 and junior Henry Niermann 51. Non-counters were freshmen Carter Boehm 57 and Grant Suckow 67.
In girls play, Altamont competed at Tuscola. Mount Zion scored a 223 while Marshall had a 246. Altamont had three players competing while Newton had one player.
Altamont’s Cecilia Pearcy had a 55, Meghan Goeckner a 67 and Emma Sphar 69.
