CHARLESTON — Effingham tallied a high school girls golf victory over Charleston by a 184-210 count Wednesday.
The Hearts’ Makenna Mayhood was medalist with a 44. Also scoring for the Hearts were Ella Tuman 46, Natalie Armstrong 47 and Allison Kroenlein 47.
Non-counting scores were Kylie Pryor 54, Addi Ruiz 57, Kennedy Tolliver 63 and Hannah Buckman 64.
Charleston was led by Macie Babbs with a 48. Also scoring were Morgan Smallhorn 50, Dylan Milton 56 and Lily Thomas 56. Non-counters were Grace Goeckner 70 and Olivia Rice 70.
Champaign Central had three players competing. Ivy Lucht had a 64, Harley Lucht a 66 and Sydney Powers a 67.
Mattoon had two players competing. Jarun Haldorsen had a 49 and Malaya Hampton a 61.
At Flora
North Clay competed in girls and boys golf matches at the Clay County Country Club Wednesday.
North Clay’s Kennedy Jones was medalist with a personal best of 39. Second place went to Mackenzie Winterrowd with a 49.
In boys competition, Brodie Adair had a 47 and Jacob Arnold a 53.
