EDWARDSVILLE — Effingham St. Anthony claimed sixth place at the Dick Gerber Golf Invitational Friday out of 22 teams.
Normal University High won the meet with a 597 total followed by Highland 601, Edwardsville #1 603, Breese Mater Dei 604, St. Anthony 605, O’Fallon 606, Chatham Glenwood 623, Edwardsville #2 625, Althoff Catholic 627, Collinsville 627, Belleville West 635, Alton Senior 635, Normal Community 640, Columbia 643, Pekin 644, Waterloo 647, Alton Marquette 650, Springfield 651, Quincy 655, Belleville East 660, Father McGivney 663 and Breese Central 664.
St. Anthony’s Logan Gowin was the medalist for the event, scoring a 68-75 — 143 total. At Timber Lake he scored 35-33 — 68 and at Belk Park he had a 36-39 — 75.
Maddux Clark finished 18th with a total of 75-76 — 151. He finished at Timber Lake with a 37-38 — 75 and at Belk Park with a 38-38 — 76.
Others competing for the Bulldogs were Alec Hakman 43-45 — 88 at Timber Lake and 40-40 — 80 at Belk Park for a 168 total, Jameson McAllaster 38-40 — 78 at Timber Lake and 39-41 — 80 at Belk Park for a 158 total, Drake Brown 43-42– 85 at Timber Lake and 35-38 –73 at Belk Park for a 158 and James Trupiano 38-44 — 82 at Timber Lake and 41-37 — 78 at Belk Park for a 160 total.
