Effingham High School football players were honored with awards at the Football Awards Night.
Winning awards were DJ Latham (Chris Hutts Bandit award), Max Buzzard and Wade Bushur (George Wenthe Sportsmanship award), Jack Hartman (Jack Klosterman Hang Tough award), Brian Westendorf and Chase Smith (Lineman of the Year award), Jaxon Bridges and Maxx Kistler (Offensive Most Valuable Players), DJ Latham and Max Flack (Defensive Most Valuable Players), Maicol Sefton (Special Teams Most Valuable Player) and Nolan Fearday and Aidan McCarty (Most Improved).
All-Apollo Conference selections were:
First Team Offense — Maxx Kistler, Brian Westendorf
First Team Defense — Maxx Kistler, DJ Latham, Max Flack (unanimous selection)
Second Team Offense — Jaxon Bridges,Jenner Pals, Chase Smith
Second Team Defense — Wade Bushur.
Freshman Hustle — Coen Westjohn
Freshman Bandit — Jenner Keyes
Freshman Little Big Man — Blake Rahn
Sophomore Hustle — Lukas Wilson
Sophomore Bandit — James Wendt
