MATTOON — Marshall and Paris were the team champions of the Cumberland Cross Country Invitationals Thursday at Lake Land College.
In the girls meet, Marshall was the team champion with 73 followed by Newton 80, Neoga 81, Fairfield 118, Teutopolis 119, Fithian Oakwood 143, Bismarck 154, St. Anthony 176, Dieterich 200, Charleston 260, Marantha Christian 295 and Westfield 341. Not scoring were Altamont, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, Paris, Danville Schlarman, Lawrenceville, Argenta-Oreana, Oblong, Woodlawn, Edwards County, Hutsonville, Chrisman, Mattoon, Oakland and Casey-Westfield.
St. Anthony’s Isabella Keller captured first place with a time of 16:08.55.
Altamont’s Reagan Winter finished fourth in 19:16.19 and Dieterich’s Lena Goebel was fifth in 19:42.92. Also in the top 10 were Newton’s Avery Geier seventh in 20:16.17 and Heather Bergbower eighth in 20:17.78.
In the boys meet, Paris was the team champion with 33 points followed by Cumberland 81, Charleston 112, Fairfield 122, St. Anthony 132, Broadlands Heritage 159, Chrisman 203, Mattoon 209, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 221, Marshall 269, Teutopolis 306, Bismarck 313, Oblong 314, Dieterich 327 and Clay City 380. Not scoring were Altamont, Newton, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, Westville, Fithian Oakwood, Palestine, Danville Schlarman, Hutsonville, Oakland, Edwards County, Casey-Westfield, Hoopston, Woodlawn, Lawrenceville, St. John’s Lutheran and Marantha Christian Academy.
Paris’ Harrison Hays won the individual championship with a time of 15:17.86.
Cumberland’s Colby Roedl was second in 15:30.40. St. Anthony’s Camden Bloemer finished eighth in 16:31.73.
