Effingham St. Anthony boys win championship at Saber Corn Classic, Aubrey Denning Takes First In Girls Meet.

CHAMPAIGN — Effingham St. Anthony claimed the boys championship at the Saber Corn Cross Country Classic, hosted by Champaign St. Thomas More Saturday.

The Bulldogs won with 23 points followed by St. Thomas More 36, Armstrong 63, Clifton Central 102 and Westville 111.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond’s Beau Green won with a time of 16:24.73.

Competing for St. Anthony were Camden Bloemer third place in 16:41.41, Isaac Tays fourth place in 16:57.93, Oliver Kreke sixth place in 17:02.39, Julius Ramos seventh place in 17:05.26 and Elijah Whittier 14th place in 18:45.85.

In the girls meet, St. Anthony’s Aubrey Denning was the champion with a time of 17:10.42. Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Emeline Wines fourth place in 20:25.09, Leah Delrossi 13th place in 22:30.68 and Nora Niebrugge 15th place in 23:04.92.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond won with 34 points followed by Fithian Oakwood 37, Champaign  St. Thomas More 72 and Armstrong 73.
