SALEM — Teutopolis High School finished third in the Salem Boys Basketball Invitational Saturday.
In Friday’s action, the Wooden Shoes fell to Mount Vernon, 36-28 to drop into the third place contest.
The Rams whipped out to a 12-4 opening quarter lead and that was the game.
T-town was led by Jason Kreke with seven points on three field goals and a free throw.
But the Shoes got geared up for the third place contest and defeated Mattoon 72-62.
T-town took a 13-6 opening quarter lead as Gavin Addis knocked in three baskets for six points and Davin Worman connected on a three-pointer.
Addis then continued on his run, this time hitting six field goals, one a three-pointer and was three of four at the line for 16 for points while Isaac McWhorter put in a three.
Mattoon came back with a 22-16 third quarter to pull within seven points but the Shoes finished strong in the final quarter.
Addis led the way with 30 points on 12 field goals one from three-point range, and five of eight at the line. Isaac McWhorter added 14.
