Teutopolis won the championship of the Effingham St. Anthony Freshman Boys Basketball Tournament Wednesday.
The Shoes ran out to a 30-10 opening quarter lead on St. Anthony and finished strong. The Shoes were led by Kale Goeckner with four three-pointers and three of three at the line in the opening quarter for 15 points. Owen Lynch added a two-pointer and a three for five.
In the second quarter, T-town went on a three-point binge, hitting six as Ripken Miller, Blake Niemerg and Goeckner had two each.
It was a three-point game for the Shoes as they finished with a grand total of 17. Goeckner led the way with seven from three-point range and three of three at the line for 24 points. Ripken Miller also had three from beyond the arc and a regular basket for 11. Blake Niemerg added two three-pointers, two baskets and a free throw for 11.
St. Anthony was led by Curtis Tingley with 17 points on seven field goals, three of those three-pointers.
