OLNEY — Effingham High School won A and B freshman/sophomore boys basketball games against Olney Wednesday evening.
In the A contest, Effingham was a 44-43 winner in overtime.
Olney held an 11-7 opening quarter lead and led 27-24 at halftime. Effingham came back in the third quarter to pull ahead 30-29. But Olney tied the score in the fourth quarter.
EHS then won in the overtime period as Kaden Rohr hit a free throw and Kellen Richmond a three-pointer.
Rohr and James Wendt had eight points each to lead the winners.
In the B game, Effingham was a 45-27 winner. EHS took a 28-15 halftime lead.
Baxton Osborne led the Hearts with 12 points while Soren Bloemker added eight.
