 Brownstown/St. Elmo Hands Okaw Valley Boys H.S. Basketball Loss

BETHANY — St. Elmo/Brownstown shot 55 percent from the field in handing Okaw Valley a 63-43 loss Wednesday evening in boys high school basketball.

The Eagles stepped out to a 17-6 opening quarter lead and led 22-15 at halftime. They finished strong with an 18-9 final period.

Four players hit double digits for the Eagles. Dodge Willms led the way with 17 points on six of 12 from two-point range and four of eight from beyond the arc. He hit his only free throw. Also in double figures were Jayden Hughett with 16 points, Graidon Wilhour with 15 and Benji Lowe with 11.

SEB hit 47 percent from three-point range and six of eight at the line.

G. Wilhour led the way in rebounding, pulling down six, five on the defensive end and also led in assists with six. Bentley Sanders had two blocked shots and Willms finished with three steals. G. Wilhour and Mason Schaub had two steals each.

St. Elmo/Brownstown is now 8-7 on the season and will be back in action playing host to Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Friday.
