BROWNSTOWN — Brownstown/St. Elmo put together another victory, this one a 51-32 win over Nokomis in girls high school basketball Tuesday evening and now sports a 17-1 record.
BSE ran out to a 13-6 opening quarter lead as five players scored with Dayana Haslett hitting a regular basket and a three-pointer for five while Danika Ramsey scored on a three-pointer.
The lead went to 30-13 at halftime. Addie Sasse connected for five points while D. Haslett scored seven more.
The Bombers had a 13-7 third period run as D. Haslett continued on with seven points.
D. Haslett led the way with 23 points on seven field goals, one of those a three-pointer, and eight of 10 at the line. Ramsey was next with eight points while Presley Williams and Sasse scored seven each.
Nokomis was a 38-25 winner in the junior varsity contest.
BSE was led by Cami Haslett with 10 points and Audria Logue with nine.

At Cowden
Dieterich High School handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City a 46-24 loss in girls basketball competition Tuesday evening.
The Maroons ran out to a 15-2 opening quarter lead. Addison Miller hit a three-pointer and two regular baskets for seven in the quarter.
CHBC’s lone basket was by Ryleigh Sarver.
The lead went to 25-11 at halftime. Miller scored five more points in the second period for 12 by halftime.
Dieterich held CHBC scoreless in the third quarter to move into a 34-11 lead. Lena Goebel led the way for the Maroons with six points.
CHBC had a 13-12 final quarter edge as Carissa Wakefield, who was held to two points through the first three quarters, busted loose with two three-pointers and three regular baskets for 12.
Dieterich’s Miller finished with 18 points on seven field goals, three from beyond the arc, and one of two at the line.
