 Teutopolis Beats Greenville, Altamont, Neoga Drop Boys Basketball Lossses

GREENVILLE — Teutopolis High School claimed both a varsity and a junior varsity win at the Greenville Boys Basketball Shootout during the weekend.

In the varsity contest, T-town was a 42-38 winner over Triad.

Triad held an 11-9 opening quarter lead and led 19-11 at halftime. Triad still held a 26-19 lead going into the final quarter.

The Wooden Shoes then mounted a furious rally with a 23-12 fourth quarter run to pull out the 42-38 win.

Jason Kreke was the lone player in double figures with 10 points on four field goals and two free throws. Gavin Addis chipped in with nine points.

Kreke also led the way in rebounds with 10 and had four assists. Landyn Thoele led in assists with five.

In the junior varsity game, T-town won over Triad 49-18.

Kendal Mette was the lone Wooden Shoe player in double figures with 10.

At Altamont

Altamont fell to Tuscola in a Friday evening contest, 64-53.

Altamont held a 15-9 opening quarter lead as Zaine Miller connected on three baskets, two of those from beyond the arc, for eight points while Cooper McManaway added five points and Kade Milleville connected on two free throws.

Tuscola came back with a 20-11 second quarter run to lead 29-26 at halftime. Altamont retaliated with a 14-12 third period to pull within 41-40. But Tuscola cut loose with a 23-13 final quarter run to claim the victory.

Altamont had three players in double figures. Miller led the way with 14 points on three field goals, two of those from beyond the arc, and six of eight at the line. K. Milleville added 12 and Parker Bell 10.

In junior varsity play, Altamont was a 53-4 winner. Carson Milleville scored 22 and Blake Berg 24 for the winners.

Arcola handed Neoga a 50-38 loss in a game played at Lake Land College Friday.

Arcola edged out to a 13-11 opening quarter lead. The Purple riders then had a 14-8 second period to lead 27-19 at halftime.

Neoga played Arcola even in the third quarter but Arcola had a 15-11 final period.

Leading Neoga was Brayden Ray with 15 points on five field goals and five of five at the line.
