Teutopolis High School moved into a 12-6 opening quarter lead and led 29-18 at halftime over Effingham. The Wooden Shoes then held off the Hearts in the second half for a 56-49 victory in boys basketball Tuesday evening.
The Wooden Shoes were led in scoring by Isaac McWhorter with 17 on six field goals that included five three-pointers. Jason Kreke chipped in with nine.
Effingham was led by Brady McDaniel with eight on three field goals and two of two at the line.
