ARCOLA — Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg traveled to Arcola and came home with a 47-21 victory Tuesday evening.
The Hatchets trailed Arcola 7-2 after the opening quarter with the lone baskets coming from Clarissa Johnson.
But that was just a start for Johnson who connected on four three-pointers in the second quarter to push the Hatchets into a 16-9 halftime lead.
Johnson came back with another three-pointer and a free throw for four while Kendra Hayes put in five points and Cameron Carey four as the lead went to 33-15 in the third quarter.
Hayes then tallied two regular baskets, a free throw and a three-pointer in the final quarter for eight as WSS finished strong with a 14-6 run.
Johnson led the way for the winners with 18 points on six field goals, five of those from beyond the arc, and one of two at the line. Also in double digits was Hayes with 13 points on five field goals, two from three-point range, and one of three at the line.

At Mattoon
Tri-County tallied a 45-34 victory over Neoga in a game played at Lake Land College Tuesday evening.
Tri-County moved into a 10-5 opening quarter lead. Neoga came back with a slight 8-7 tally to pull within 17-13.
But Tri-County went on a 19-7 third quarter run and that was the game, despite Neoga finishing the fourth quarter with a 14-9 lead.
M. Ehlers led Tri-County with 12 points.
Neoga was led by Malory Henderson, also with 12 points on four field goals, two of those from three-point range, and two of four at the line.
The Indians fall to 3-4 on the season and will be back in action Thursday playing host to Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville at Lake Land College.
Tri-County won the junior varsity contest, 36-29.
