SIGEL — Three games were contested Tuesday evening at the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Boys Basketball Tournament.

Cumberland was a 36-31 winner over Windsor in the opening game of the evening.

Sigel St. Michael defeated Altamont 21-16 to move into the consolation championship game against South Central Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

St. Michael edged out to a 4-0 opening quarter lead. Deters and Probst had the only baskets in the quarter.

The lead went to 11-2 at halftime. Kreke put in a three-pointer for the Sharpshooters.

Altamont came back with a slight 5-4 third quarter edge. Weston Nelson hit a basket and a free throw while Will Sphar had a basket.

Altamont continued on in the final period with an 8-6 edge but couldn’t make up that first half.

The Sharphooters were led by Deters with six and Kreke with five.

Altamont was  led by Nelson with eight and Noah Perice added six.

St. Elmo/Brownstown downed Stewardson-Strasburg 35-21 and will now meet Dieterich at 8 p.m. Thursday for the championship.

Stew-Stras drops into the third place contest against Neoga at 6:45 p.m. Thursday.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis was a winner in both games over Olney Tuesday evening.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game, 43-13. The Shoes zipped out to an 23-8 halftime lead.

Bryson Meyer was the leading scorer with 18. Noah Imburgia chipped in with eight.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town won 56-29. The Shoes held a 31-4 halftime lead.

Mason Giles scored 17 for the winners while Louie Niebrugge added nine.
