SIGEL — Three games were contested Monday evening at the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Boys Basketball Tournament.
In the first game, North Clay won easily over Effingham Sacred Heart, 38-7.
The second game went to South Central against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 35-28.
CHBC held an 8-4 opening quarter lead and led 13-11 at halftime. South Central came back with an 8-4 third period to lead 19-17 then finished strong with a 16-11 final period.
Hall led the way for South Central with 12 while Garner added 10.
CHBC was led by Elliot Thull with 11.
In game 11, Dieterich downed Neoga by a 47-9 tally.
Dieterich held a 12-3 opening quarter lead and led 30-7 at halftime. Dieterich finished with a 17-2 second half.
Chase Bohnhoff led the winner with 25 points.
Neoga was led by Bright with six.
Action continues tonight as Windsor meets Cumberland at 5:30, Altamont faces Sigel St. Michael at 6:45 and St. Elmo/Brownstown takes on Stewardson-Strasburg at 8.

At Effingham
Effingham St. Anthony claimed an eighth-grade victory over Flora Monday.
The Bullpups led 13-7 after the opening quarter and 25-18 at halftime. Flora pulled within 27-21 going into the final quarter but the Bullpups put together a 9-8 edge.
E. Bales led the winners with 10 points. The Bullpups are now 8-6 on the season.
St. Anthony as a 55-36 winner in a Saturday contest.
The Bullpups led Olney 28-14 at halftime.
Ryan Wohltman led the way with 15 points.

At Effingham
Effingham was a 53-30 winner in eighth-grade action Monday against Marshall.
The Mustangs led 17-3 in the opening quarter as Deek Thompson scored six and Calvin Beck four. Jared Klingler put in a three-pointer.
In the second quarter, Thompson continued on with his hot scoring as he connected on five baskets for 10 points. Trenton Partlow and Hunter Yager nailed a three-pointer each.
Marshall had a 12-6 third period but the Mustangs finished strong with a 12-6 final period.
Thompson led the way with 26 points on 11 field goals and four free throws.
In seventh-grade action, Marshall won 59-8. Marshall ran out to a 28-2 opening quarter lead and that was the game.
Effingham was led by Levi Eckert and Noah Hamilton with three points each.

Jasper County picked up two victories over Red Hill Monday evening.
Jasper County was a winner in seventh-grade play, 41-29. Jasper County took a 22-11 halftime lead.
Tristian Lingafelter scored 16 points while Cash Collins and Duncan Miller tallied 10 each. The top rebounder was Miller while the top defender was Collins. Rafe Thomann was the top passer.
In eighth-grade play, Jasper County won 37-27. Jasper County ran out to a 27-6 halftime lead. Jacob Guzman was the lone player in double figures with 15.
Dawson Williams was the top rebounder, slex Keller the top defenfer and Guzman the top passer.
Jasper County is 6-6 in both seventh- and eighth-grade play.

Teutopolis fell to Lawrenceville in eighth-grade action Monday evening, 33-24.
The Shoes held a 9-6 opening quarter lead and led 17-15 at halftime. But Lawrenceville came back with an 18-7 second half run for the win.
Dennis led T-town with seven points.
In games against Mattoon, Teutopolis seventh-grade won 48-26. Bryson Meyer led with 18 points.
In the eighth-grade contest, T-town downed Mattoon 51-28. Connor Althoff led in scoring with 12.
