 Junior High Girls 8-1A, 8-2A, 8-3A Regional Roundup

Sigel St. Michael captured the championship of its own Class 8-1A Girls Basketball Regional Friday.

The Sharpshooters defeated Neoga, 31-22.

St. Michael now advances to the Jerseyville Francis Sectional Wednesday to meet either Carrollton or Carrollton Grade School at 6 p.m.

 

Class 8-2A

In the Casey-Westfield Regional, Effingham St. Anthony won the championship with a 37-16 victory over Cumberland Friday.

The Bullpups will advance to the North Clay Sectional Wednesday and face Dieterich at 6 p.m.

Dieterich was a winner in the South Central Regional.

Dieterich defeated Albion, 38-32. The two teams were tied at 6-6 after the opening quarter. Dieterich moved into a 19-14 halftime lead. Both teams scored nine points in the third quarter and Dieterich finished out with a 10-9 final period.

Mackenzie  Roedl and Lydia Kreke led Dieterich with eight points each. Emery Bill added six, Briley Bohnhoff 2, Emma Williams 2 and Ava Benefiel 2.

 

Class 8-3A

Teutopolis will face Lawrenceville Parkview at 6 p.m. today for the regional championship of the Lawrenceville Parkview Regional.

The Wooden Shoes easily handled Robinson Nuttall by a 37-6 tally.

The Shoes ran out to a 15-0 opening quarter lead and that was the game.

Probst scored eight while Murray added seven and Dennis six. T-town is now 21-2 on the season.

In the other contest, Lawrenceville Parkview won over Red Hill, 39-9.
