PARIS — Teutopolis is headed to the Class 7-3A Girls State Basketball Tournament.
The Wooden Shoes pounded St. Joseph at the Paris Mayo Sectional Wednesday evening. 33-12.
T-town zipped out to a 13-4 opening quarter lead and held a 19-9 halftime tally.
The Shoes then had a 14-3 second half for the winning margin.
Schmidt led the way with eight points while Mette and Grunloh added six each.
T-town is now 24-1 on the season and will compete at the Class 7-3A State Tournament at Auburn High School Saturday. T-town will meet Forrest Prairie Central at 11:30 a.m. in the second game.
In the opener, Virginia (23-2) takes on Washington (20-2) at 10 a.m. The third contest features Downs Tri-Valley (22-2) against Burr Ridge Gower (10-3) at 1 p.m. The fourth contest will have Princeton Logan (17-3) against Hillsboro (23-1) at 2:30.
The winners will advance to 5 and 6:30 p.m. games Saturday.
The third place contest is scheduled for Thursday, December 11 at 6 p.m. with the championship game at 7:30 p.m.
