 Greg Feezel Honored For 300th Win, Eagles Drop Tough Loss To Webber

ST. ELMO — St. Elmo/Brownstown fell to Webber Township (Bluford) 86-70 in boys high school basketball action but Eagles fans still had a chance to celebrate Wednesday evening.

Prior to the varsity matchup, Coach Greg Feezel was honored for his 300th coaching career victory he and his team achieved last week during their season opener in the Mulberry Grove Thanksgiving Tournament.

Both teams shot well in the game Wednesday as the Eagles hit 52 percent but they were outdistanced by the Webber Township team that connected on 68 percent.

Webber edged out to an 18-16 opening quarter lead then went on a 25-15 second period run to lead 43-31 at halftime.

Two Eagles players scored in double figures. Graidon Wilhour hit seven field goals for 58 percent, three of those from three point range as he connected on three of six. He also was a perfect five of five at the free throw line for his 22 points.

Also in double figures were Benji Lowe with 15 points and Jayden Hughett with 11. Dodge Willms was on the verge of double figures with nine points.

Lowe led in rebounds with six and had two blocked shots. G. Wilhour finished with five assists. Jack Wilhour had three assists and a steal.

St. Elmo/Brownstown dropped to 3-2 on the season and will be back in action Friday, hosting Neoga in National Trail Conference action.
