NEOGA — Both the boys and the girls Neoga High School basketball teams fell in the Mary Sur Shootouts held Friday at Mattoon Emerald Acres.
In the girls contest, Okaw Valley edged Neoga, 64-57.
Neoga held a 23-12 opening quarter lead and still held a lead at halftime, 32-30.
The two teams played to a 14-14 tie in the third period but Okaw Valley came back with a 20-11 final quarter run to pull out a 64-57 win.
Neoga had two players in double figures. Malory Henderson led the way with 18 points on eight field goals, and one free throw. Henderson had one three-pointer. Chloe Frankie chipped in with nine points.
Neoga dropped to 1-2 on the season.
In the boys game, Nokomis downed Neoga, 60-27.
Nokomis held a 29-9 halftime lead and never looked back.
K. Jonas scored 19 for the winners while C. Wexstten added 11 and K. Reynolds 10.
