 Teutopolis, Brownstown/St. Elmo Claim Girls Basketball Victories

TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis High School played host to Salem Tuesday evening and sent the Wildcats home with a 51-36 loss in girls basketball competition.

The Wooden Shoes took a 17-12 opening quarter lead but Salem came back with a 13-7 run to lead 25-24 at halftime.

T-town rallied with a 9-8 third quarter to tie the score at 33-33.

The Shoes then finished out strong wearing down Salem with an 18-3 run for the victory. In that run, Anna Probst tallied five points while Eva Mette and Jersey Gaddis added four points each. Mallory Bloemer knocked in a three-pointer.

T-town had only one player in double figures. Anna Probst finished with 12 point on five field goals, one a three-pointer, and was one of one at the line. Ten players scored in the contest for the Shoes.

Gaddis and Kelsey Niemerg finished with five steals each. Malea Helmink had two assists.

At Brownstown

Brownstown/St. Elmo had a huge scoring second quarter in taking a 54-26 victory over Greenville in regular season play Tuesday evening.

BSE held a 9-3 opening quarter lead then went on a tear, outscoring Greenville 27-5 to lead 36-8 at halftime.

In that run, Dayana Haslett and Madi Miller scored eight points each while Addie Sasse added six and Danika Ramsey hit a three-pointer.

Haslett finished with 16 points to lead the winners with six field goals, one a three-pointer, and three of four at the line. Miller added 14 and Sasse 11.

In junior varsity action, Greenville captured a 23-19 win.

BSE was led by Audria Logue with 10 points.
