Winners of the Lawrence Carie Memorial Elks Hoop shoot were:
8-9 boys — Bennett Ballinger (Neoga), 15 out of 25
8-9 girls — Kelsey Roedl (Dieterich), 15 out of 25
10-11 boys — Keaton Davis (Altamont) 11 out of 25
10-11 girls — Emelia Haarmann (Sacred Heart) 16 out of 25
12-13 boys — Spencer Lurkins (Altamont) 19 out of 25 (12 out of 15 shootout)
12-13 girls — Kambryn Mellendorf (Dieterich) 16 out of 25
The Doris (Carie) Zerrusen award went to Kambryn Mellendorf of Dieterich.
The Taylor Worman award went to Spencer Lurkins of Altamont.
The shooters advance to District Hoop Shoot which will be held at the Mattoon YMCA, hosted by Champaign-Urbana Lodge #2497 January 10.
The 1 p.m. registration and check in for all the shooters-competitors will be at 1 p.m. Shooting will start at 1:30 p.m.
The winners in each age group from seven local lodge contests will be combined to determine the individuals to represent the District at the State contest. The State contest will be February 28 in Springfield.
