 Junior High Girls Basketball Results — November 17

Neoga Junior High School captured both girls basketball victories over South Central in Monday evening competition.

The seventh-graders won 22-9 by stepping out to a 16-2 first half lead and never looking back.

Nora Hartke and Avery Finney led the way for the winners with eight points each.

South Central was led by V. Skibinski with six.

In eighth-grade play, Neoga was a 28-13 winner.

South Central held a 12-11 first half lead but Neoga came roaring back to hold South Central scoreless in the third quarter and push ahead 18-12.

Neoga then had a 10-1 final period run.

Bliss Bear led in scoring for the winners with 16 points.

South Central was led by Skylar Webster with seven.

At Effingham

Effingham fell to Mattoon in both seventh- and eighth-grade action Monday evening.

Mattoon was a 43-24 winner in the seventh-grade contest. Mattoon moved into a 13-6 opening quarter lead and pushed that to 28-11 at halftime.

The Mustangs were led by Kynlie Rohr with nine points.

In the eighth-grade contest, Mattoon led 17-7 at halftime then had a 21-9 second half.

Effingham was led by Cloie Bailey with six points.
