 Junior High Girls Basketball — November 12 Results

Effingham St. Anthony was a winner in the eighth-grade game while Richland County, Olney won the seventh-grade contest in girls junior high basketball Wednesday evening.

Olney edged out to a 7-2 lead in the seventh-grade game and went on for a 25-10 victory.

St. Anthony trailed 11-2 at halftime.

Nora Brumleve led the Bullpups with six points.

In eighth-grade action, the two teams were tied at 6-6 after the opening quarter before St. Anthony moved ahead 14-8 at halftime and went on for a 33-28 victory.

Morgan Lustig and Amaya Griffith led the Bullpups with nine points each.

At Windsor

Stewardson-Strasburg and South Central split victories in a junior high girls basketball contests Wednesday evening.

Stew-Stras edged South Central 18-17 in the seventh-grade game. Stew-Stras ran out to a 7-0 opening quarter lead but South Central pulled back within 8-7 in the second period and tied the score at 10-10 going into the final quarter. Stew-Stras then came back with an 8-7 edge for the win.

Stew-Stras was led by Tessa Shafer with four points. The team is 6-2 in the National Trail Conference, 10-7 overall.

South Central was led by Logsden with 11 points.

In eighth-grade play, South Central was a 37-25 winner. South Central led 17-15 at halftime then had a 16-4 third quarter run to put the game away.

Webster scored 15 for the winners.

Stew-Stras was led by Melina Macklin and Laney Barnard with five each
