TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis stepped out to early leads in both seventh- and eighth-grade girls basketball action and went on for two victories over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday.
In the seventh-grade game, T-town improved to 19-1 with a 43-15 win. The Wooden Shoes held a 17-2 opening quarter lead and never looked back.
Mette tallied 13 points for the winners.
CHBC was led by Towler with eight.
In the eighth-grade contest, T-town ran out to a 14-4 opening quarter lead and won 57-15.
Three players hit double figures for the Shoes. Dennis led with 18 while Zerrusen added 16 and Probst 12.
Thompson scored eight to lead the Bobcats.

At Casey
Effingham St. Anthony was a winner in the eighth-grade contest but fell to Casey-Westfield in seventh-grade action Tuesday evening.
St. Anthony held a 19-8 halftime lead then had a 32-11 second half for a 51-19 victory in the eighth-grade game.
Bella Schultz scored 21 points that included an 11-point third quarter.
In the seventh-grade contest, Casey-Westfield won 37-14.
Casey-Westfield held a 17-8 halftime lead.
Nora Brumleve led the Bullpups with 10 points.
