 Junior High Girls Basketball Results — November 10

NEOGA — Neoga handed Shelbyville two losses in junior high girls basketball Monday evening.

Neoga was a 34-10 winner in seventh-grade action. Neoga ran out to a 12-2 opening quarter lead and led 30-6 at halftime.

Nora Hartke hit eight points in that opening quarter run and came back with six more in the third quarter to lead Neoga with 14.

In eighth-grade play, Neoga trailed Shelbyville 2-0 after the opening quarter but came back strong to take a 32-17 win.

Bliss Bear and Kinsey Bell scored six points each in the second quarter run that got Neoga back in the right direction.

Bear finished with 18 points while Bell added eight.

At Dieterich

Dieterich and Cumberland split victories in Monday evening play.

Cumberland edged Dieterich 25-24 in overtime in the seventh-grade contest.

The score was knotted at 12-12 at halftime. Cumberland then had a 10-0 third quarter run but Dieterich came back to do the exact same in the fourth quarter with a 10-0 surge to tie the score.

In eighth-grade play, Dieterich won easily, 47-9. Dieterich ran out to a 25-0 opening quarter lead.

 

At Altamont

Effingham was a winner over Altamont in both seventh- and eighth-grade action Monday evening.

In the seventh-grade game, Effingham won 34-16. The Mustangs held a 19-10 halftime lead then had a 15-6 second half.

Effingham was led by Rohr with 20 points.

Altamont was led by Madison Brockett with 12.

In eighth-grade action, Effingham won 41-16.

The Mustangs moved into a 21-8 halftime lead and had a 15-4 third quarter.

C. Barlay led the Mustangs with 16 points.

Altamont was led by Nora Teasley with six.
