 Junior High Boys Basketball — November 7-8

Effingham and Teutopolis competed in the boys junior high Triad Basketball Shootout Saturday.

Effingham split victories while Teutopolis was a winner in both games.

Effingham won over Highland 42-38. Highland held a 20-19 halftime lead and led 30-27 going into the final quarter.

Effingham mounted a comeback with a 15-8 final period to pull out the victory.

Deek Thompson scored 21, hitting seven field goals that included three trifectas and was four of four at the line.

In the second game, Carriel was a 49-44 winner over Effingham.

Carriel jumped out to a 27-22 halftime lead then had a 10-4 third quarter run.

Effingham was led by Thompson with 18 points and O’Dell with 10.

Teutopolis won over Mascoutah in both seventh- and eighth-grade play at the Shootout.

T-town won the seventh-grade game 36-27, taking a 26-23 lead going into the final quarter then outscoring Mascoutah 10-4.

B. Meyer scored 15 to lead the Shoes.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town ran out to a 19-3 opening quarter lead and never looked back in a 52-23 win.

O. Wermert scored 12 and M. Giles 11 for the winners.

T-town edged O’Fallon Fulton 25-23 in the seventh-grade contest. T-town trailed O’Fallon Fulton 7-4 after the opening quarter but came back to lead 12-11 at halftime.

B. Meyer scored seven to lead the winners.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town easily won 49-19, zipping out to a 19-4 opening quarter lead.

K. Meyer scored 10 for the winners.

Teutopolis competed in B games Saturday with Neoga. The Shoes won the opening game 70-8, taking a 36-6 halftime lead.

Thirteen players scored for the Shoes led by Cam Kremer and Caden Flora with nine each.

Neoga was led by Bright with six.

In the second contest, T-town won 42-22. The Shoes held a 19-16 halftime lead.

Finley Witges led the winners with nine points while Brock Witges added eight.

Neoga was led by McNeal with four.

At Robinson

Dieterich and Robinson Nuttall split victories in Friday action.

In the seventh-grade contest, Dieterich claimed the victory, 33-23.

Dieterich held a 20-13 halftime lead.

Chase Bohnhoff led the way in scoring with 11 while Sam Probst added nine.

In eighth-grade action, Robinson Nuttall claimed a 42-21 victory.

Nuttall ran out to a 17-4 opening quarter lead and didn’t look back.

Brody Niemerg led Dieterich with six points.

At Marshall

Marshall played host to Jasper County and sent the visitors home with losses in both seventh- and eighth-grade action.

Marshall won the seventh-grade game 44-11, running out to a 28-4 halftime lead.

Duncan Miller led Jasper County with four points. Kamden Klier was the top rebounder and top passer while Tristian Lingafelter was the top defender.

In the eighth-grade game, Marshall won 27-21. Jasper County held an 11-8 halftime lead and led 19-17 going into the final period but Marshall came back with a 10-2 run for the win.

Jacob Guzman led Jasper County with 12 points and was the top defender. Dawson Williams was the top rebounder and Grant Frichtl the top passer.
