 Junior High Boys Basketball — November 4 Scores

NEWTON — Jasper County played host to Altamont in junior high boys basketball and claimed two victories Tuesday evening.

Jasper County won the seventh-grade matchup, 44-25. The Eagles moved into a 26-13 halftime lead.

Kamden Klier led with nine points while Tristian Lingafelter and Rafe Thomann scored eight each. Cash Collins was the leading rebounder while Thomann was the top defender and top passer.

Altamont’s leading scorer was Weston Nelson with 10.

In eighth-grade play, Jasper County won 45-36. Altamont held a 16-12 halftime lead but Jasper County moved ahead 27-23 going into the final quarter and had an 18-13 run.

Jacob Guzman scored 18 while Grant Frichtl added 13. Trace Cornwell was the top rebounder while Frichtl was the top defender and top passer.

Altamont was led by Jack Neu with 21 points.

Jasper County is now 2-0 in both seventh- and eighth-grade play.

At Newton

At Cowden

Dieterich and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City each picked up a victory Tuesday evening.

Dieterich was a 39-21 winner in seventh-grade action. Dieterich held an 18-10 halftime lead.

Chase Bohnhoff led the way with 19 points for the winners.

CHBC was led by Tyce Kircher and Elliot Thull with six each.

In eighth-grade play, CHBC won 28-14.

CHBC moved into a 17-2 halftime lead. Brody Cox led in scoring with eight.

Dieterich was led by Chase Uthell with five.

At Cowden

At Louisville

Altamont Lutheran came calling and won over North Clay in both seventh- and eighth-grade action.

Altamont Lutheran was a 46-8 winner in seventh-grade action.

In the eighth-grade game, Altamont Lutheran was a 33-26 winner.

North Clay is back in action Thursday against Stewardson-Strasburg beginning at 6 p.m.

 

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg claimed the eighth-grade victory while Pana Sacred Heart won the seventh-grade game Tuesday evening.

Pana ran out to a 33-11 halftime lead and never looked back in a 58-23 win over Stew-Stras.

Stew-Stras was led by Crosby Ashmore with nine points.

In eighth-grade play, Stew-Stras raced out to a 23-0 opening quarter lead and tallied a 59-21 victory.

Johnny Richter led the winners with 16 points while Adam Pruemer added 14 and Noah Friese 12.

Stew-Stras is back in action Thursday at North Clay starting at 6 p.m.

Teutopolis downed Sullivan in both seventh- and eighth-grade play Tuesday evening.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game, 47-14. T-town held a 21-3 halftime lead.

Bryson Meyer scored 16 for the winners.

In eighth-grade action, T-town edged out to a 7-2 lead then had a 16-4 second period run. The Shoes went on for a 46-11 victory.

Maddux Pals led the way with 13 points for the Shoes.

T-town is back in action Thursday playing host to Altamont Lutheran.
