BROWNSTOWN — Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City handed Dieterich a loss in the opening game of Wednesday evening in the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Girls Basketball Tournament.
CHBC was a 25-20 over Dieterich.
Dieterich was led by Ali Koester with seven points, seven rebounds and seven steals.
No statistics were listed for CHBC.
In the second contest, Cumberland won over Altamont, 17-10.
The final game of the evening was a one-pointer as Sigel St. Michael edged Neoga, 19-18.
Tonight’s games feature Dieterich against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 6 followed by Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City taking on South Central at 7:15.
Friday’s games will have Altamont against Neoga at 6 and Cumberland and Sigel St. Michael squaring off at 7:15.
The consolation championship will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by third place at 10:15 and the championship at 11:30.
