The National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Girls Basketball Tournament got underway Tuesday evening.
Dieterich was a winner over Brownstown/St. Elmo, 13-9.
BSE held an 8-6 halftime lead but Dieterich came back with a 7-1 second half run.
Makayla Meinhart led the winners in scoring with six points. Ali Koester led in rebounds with eight and had one blocked shot. Emily Niemerg had three steals.
Altamont defeated Effingham Sacred Heart, 27-21. No other information listed.
South Central downed Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, 28-19.
South Central held an 8-6 opening quarter lead and led 16-8 at halftime.
Webster led the way with eight points while Cowger added six.
WSS was led by Barnhard with 12 points.
The tournament will continue tonight as top-seeded Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City faces Dieterich at 5:30, Cumberland takes on Altamont at 6:45 and Sigel St. Michael meets Neoga at 8.
The tournament continues Thursday and Friday with the finals scheduled for Saturday.
