TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis High School improved its baseball record by blanking Casey-Westfield, 10-0 in five innings Thursday.
The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead then had a nine-run second inning.
Aidan Niemerg tossed four innings for the pitching win. He gave up one hit, did not walk a batter and struck out six. Gavin Addis came on to finish out the final inning, striking out two.
Meanwhile, the Wooden Shoes had nine hits led by Jason Kreke with a single, double and three RBI, Davin Worman with a single, double and an RBI, Michael Habing with a double and two RBI, Andy Lustig a triple and an RBI, Bryce Niebrugge with two singles and Teagan Pals with a single and an RBI.
T-town improved to 4-1 on the season and returns to action Saturday hosting Fairfield.
Casey-Westfield’s lone hit was a single by Daryn Hupp.

At Toledo
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City came calling at Cumberland and blanked the host squad by a 12-0 tally in five innings Thursday.
The Bobcats put together a four-run second inning then added on two in the third and six in the fourth.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City’s Clive Schlanser tossed the one-hitter, giving up two walks and striking out seven.
The Bobcats finished with eight hits led by Ben Askins with a single, home run and an RBI, Kale Hardimon with a double and four RBI and Clive Schlanser with two singles and three RBI. Max Kircher and Isaac Wells added an RBI each.
Cumberland’s lone hit was a single by Maddox Miller.

At Newton
Newton edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead on Mount Carmel Thursday. But the Golden Aces came back to move into a 4-1 lead in the second.
But the Eagles weren’t done scoring yet. They tallied two in the third and moved into a 5-4 lead with two more in the fourth. Then they put the game far out of reach with an eight-run sixth for a 13-6 victory.
Newton finished with 11 hits. Quincy Fulton had two doubles and an RBI while Drake Wolf finished with two singles, a double and two RBI. Maddox Horner added two singles and a RBI while Dexter Fulton chipped in with a double and an RBI. Dominic Baltzell added a single and two RBI.
Eli Wolf went four innings for the mound victory. He gave up four runs on six hits, walked three and struck out four.

The Cardinals are now a perfect 6-0 on the season and return to action Saturday with a doubleheader against Richland County, Olney.
