LOS ANGELES — Forty-six days ago, Trey Yesavage moved into the Major Leagues for his debut.
Wednesday night, Yesavage tossed a three-hitter in the World Series. He did not give up a walk and struck out 12 in seven innings which is a record for rookies.
Meanwhile, teammates had their hitting shoes on with back-to-back home runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead and go on for a 6-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Davis Schneider and Vladimir Guerrero connected for home runs, back-to-back in the first inning.
Yesavage, 22 years old, went four innings in the opening game of the World Series, giving up two runs.
This time around, he had control and proved it as the Blue Jays moved into a 3-2 lead with Game Six scheduled for Friday. it’s a 7 p.m. start in Toronto.
