LOS ANGELES — Eighteen innings . . . that’s how long the game was played Monday evening before Freddie Freeman hit a home run to give the Los Angeles Dodgers a 6-5 win over Toronto in the third game of the World Series.
The big name of the evening, however, was Shohei Ohtani who reached base nine times. Ohtani led off with a double. The next at-bat was a home run. Then, he doubled again. He ended up hitting a second home run that tied the game at 5-5. He was then intentionally walked in his next four at-bats.
This game saw 19 pitchers, 31 hits and 37 runners that were left stranded.
The Dodgers now have a 2-1 lead in the World Series with the next game tonight with a 7 p.m. start at Los Angeles.
