NEOGA — Altamont High School ended its baseball game against Neoga by the 10-run rule, 12-1 Tuesday.

Altamont edged out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning, tacked on two in the third, one in the fourth, three in the fifth and ended the game with five in the sixth.

Altamont banged out 13 hits led by Kade Milleville with a single, two doubles and two RBI. Reed Stuemke with two singles and three RBI, Cooper McManaway with two singles and two RBI, Will Reardon with a single and two RBI and Brayden Elam with a single and an RBI.

Milleville was also the winner on the mound. He went six innings, allowing one run on four hits, one walk while striking out four.

Neoga was led by Braylon Sparrow with a single, home run and an RBI.

At Dieterich

Effingham St. Anthony moved into a 5-0 opening inning lead and went on for a 10-3 victory over Dieterich Tuesday.

The Bulldogs finished with 12 hits but also had five errors.

Charley Spour had four singles while Henry Brent had a single and double. Will Vonderheide had a double and three RBI while Aiden Lauritzen added a double and two RBI. Xander Beals had a single and drov in two runs while Will Bierman also had two RBI.

Chase Dorris went 5.2 innings for the pitching win. He gave up two runs on five hits, two walks and struck out three. Spour came on to finish the final 1.1 innings, giving up one run on two hits while striking out three.

Dieterich was led by Gavin Meinhart with a double, Dominic Ashley with two singles and Andrew Hall a single and an RBI.

Brownstown/St. Elmo ran out to a 9-0 opening inning lead and went on to end this game in the fifth inning over Ramsey/Mulberry Grove by an 11-1 count Tuesday.

The Bombers finished with eight hits led by Calvin Voelker with two singles, Benji Lowe with a double and two RBI, Logan Lach with a single and two RBI, Lucas Powell and Zayden Gillespie with a single and an RBI each and Nolan Wilhour with an RBI.

Brownstown/st. Elmo improved to 6-11 on the season.

At Strasburg

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg’s Carter Verdeyen tossed a no-hitter as the Hatchets blanked Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 11-0 in five innings Tuesday.

WIndsor/Stew-Stras took a 3-0 opening inning lead and tallied four runs in the second and fourth inning each to end the game via the 10-ruin rule.

The Hatchets had 14 hits in the contest. (No other statistics were listed).

 

At Kinmundy

The South Central Cougars’ offense was held to just two hits as they fell to North Clay/Clay 6-0 Tuesday.

South Central drops to 6-13 on the season and ends National Trail Conference regular season play with a 1-7 record.

South Central was led by Sebastian Kruger and Colton Tockstein with a single each.

The Cougars will be back in action Wednesday taking on Cisne.

North Clay/Clay City improved to 7-1 in the conference, 17-5 overall.

The Cardinals are back in action Thursday against Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran in a 4:30 p.m. contest.
