TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis High School remained unbeaten this baseball season by pulling out a 7-6 victory over North Clay/Clay City Thursday.
The Wooden Shoes scored a run in the first inning but the Cardinals came back with three in the top of the third. T-town scored another single run in the bottom of the third. The Cardinals retaliated with a run in the top of the fifth to lead 5-4. The Shoes then tied the score again in the bottom of the fifth.
North Clay maneuvered ahead in the top of the seventh only to see T-town tie in the bottom of the inning and the game went through three more innings before T-town scored the winning run in the bottom of the 11th. Teagan Pals was batting, Gavin Addis was on first, Nolan Schumacher was on second, and Derek Drees was on third. Pals walked, forcing home the winning run in a walk-off walk.
Jason Kreke had a single, double and a solo home run for the Shoes. Davin Worman and Austin Borries added a single, two doubles and two RBI each. Teagan Pals chipped in with a single , double and an RBI while Bryce Niebrugge tallied two singles and an RBI.
T-town had five pitchers taking turns on the mound. Gavin Addis earned the win, going the final two innings, giving up one hit and striking out two. Addis is now 3-0 on the season.
North Clay/Clay City was led in hitting by Cayden Craig with two singles, two doubles and two RBI, Jack Compton with a double and an RBI, Trevan Sidwell and Carder Walden had a double each and Trenton Ingram had a single and an RBI.
North Clay is now 11-4 on the season and returns to action today against Brownstown/St. Elmo.
Teutopolis is now 13-0 on the season. The Wooden Shoes are back in action Saturday at the Cardinal Classic against Dieterich at 11 a.m.

At Mulberry Grove
Brownstown/St. Elmo captured an 11-1 victory over Ramsey/Mulberry Grove in five innings via the 10-run rule Thursday.
The Bombers moved into a 3-0 opening inning lead and never looked back.
Logan Lach had two singles and drove in three runs for the winners while Lucas Powell had two singles and an RBI. Tucker Davison finished with a triple and an RBI. Zayden Gillespie, Keelan Speagle and Calvin Voelker had a single each while Gillespie added an RBI.
Brownstown/St. Elmo improved to 4-9 and returns to action today at North Clay.
