 St. Anthony Blanks CHBC, Neoga, Altamont, North Clay Win In H.S. Baseball

Effingham St. Anthony blanked Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in high school baseball action Tuesday, 6-0.

The Bulldogs finished with 10 hits led by Aidan Lauritzen with a home run and three RBI. Will Bierman and Quinton Stephens added two singles and an RBI each while Alex Mayer had a double. Charley Spour finished with two singles and Blake Verdeyen added an RBI.

Xander Beals went five innings on the mound for the win. He gave up no runs, two hits, two walks and struck out eight. Chase Dorris came on to finish the final two innings, not allowing a hit, walking one and striking out three.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City had singles from Cayden Ondes and Kale Hardimon.

At Effingham

At Brownstown

Neoga opened the first inning with two runs and went on for an 11-5 victory over Brownstown/St. Elmo Tuesday.

Neoga tallied four in the third and sixth innings around one in the fourth.

The Indians finished with 11 hits.

BSE had seven hits led by Jayce Gillespie with two triples and two RBI, Dodge Willms with a double and an RBI and Nolan Wilhour with two singles and an RBI.

BSE dropped to 2-3 in the National Trail Conference, 3-5 overall and is back in action Thursday at Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran.

At Brownstown

At Kinmundy

Altamont surged past South Central for a 10-0 victory Tuesday thanks in large part for six runs in the sixth inning.

Kade Milleville doubled, scoring a run, Cooper McManaway doubled, scoring two runs, Brayden Elam singled, scoring one run and Carson Milleville singled, scoring two runs, all in the sixth inning surge.

Up to that point, Altamont had tallied a run in the fourth and three in the sixth.

The Indians finished with 12 hits led by K. Milleville with three doubles and an RBI., McManaway and Kaiden Wolff with a single, double and two RBI each, Carson Milleville with a single, double and three RBI and Elam with a single and an RBI. Zaine Miller added an RBI.

K. Milleville went the distance on the mound. He gave up no runs on four hits, two walks and struck out five.

Altamont is back in action Friday hosting Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.

South Central was led by Aiden Hoover, Luke Shumate, Kaiden Harrell and Colton Tockstein with a single each.

North  Clay/Clay City claimed a 6-0 victory over Dieterich Tuesday.

North Clay/Clay City edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then had two-run innings in the fourth and fifth and scored a final run in the sixth.

I. Jones went five innings on the mound, allowing one hit, two walks and striking out seven. C. Zimdars came on to go the final two innings with five strikeouts.

C. Lewis and J. Compton had a double and an RBI each while C. Craig had three singles and two RBI and C. Walden two singles. T. Sidwell and T. Ingram had a single and an RBI each.

Dieterich was led by Chase Bohnhoff with a double.

The Cardinals improved to 4-1 in the National Trail Conference and 8-2 overall.

North Clay/Clay City is back in action Thursday against Webber Township (Bluford) at 4:30 p.m.
