TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis took a 4-0 opening inning lead and went on to down Newton by a 13-1 count in four inningsof junior high baseball Friday.
The Wooden Shoes had 12 hits led by Maddux Pals with a single, two doubles and three RBI, Mason Giles with two singles, a triple and an RBI, Kason Meyer with a single, double and an RBI and Conner Althoff with a double. Myles Hoene added two singles and two RBI.
Finley Witges was the winning pitcher, going three innings, allowing one run on three hits, two walks and striking out two.

Effingham Sacred Heart scored five runs in the second, four in the fourth and one in the seventh for a 10-4 victory over Newton St. Thomas.
Lucas McDevitt went 2 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on four hits, with four strikeouts and a walk for the win.
Chris Kenter had a single, double and two RBI to lead the hitting.

Neoga broke a 1-1 tie with single runs in the third and fourth and led 5-1 in the top of the sixth. But Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City came back with four runs in the sixth to tie the score. Brody Cox then singled, scoring a run in the bottom of the seventh for the victory.
Cox finished with two singles, a double and two RBI while Luke Roadarmel had a single, double and an RBI and Curtis Bethel a double and an RBI. Tyce Kircher had three singles and Ben Noble a single and an RBI.
Neoga was led by Gage Nohren with a triple, Bentley Bright with a single and two RBI and Baylor Matusas with a single and an RBI.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg was in control from the start and ended up handing Sigel St. Michael a 25-1 loss in five innings.
The winners led 8-1 after three innings then scored 17 runs in the fourth. They had 21 hits. Jacob Duncan had a single and a home run with two RBI, Garrett Worman had three singles, a double and three RBI. Noah Friese had four singles and four RBI. Jacob Howe chipped in with two singles, a double and two RBI while Max McCormick had a single, double and three RBI. Johnny Richter added a single, double and two RBI.
St. Michael’s hit was a double and an RBI by B. Walk.

North Clay defeated Cisne in Friday action, 11-5. The victory gives North Clay a 5-9 overall record.
North Clay is back in action Thursday against Oblong at 4:30 p.m. in the first round of the IESA Regional.
Saturday’s Games
Teutopolis dispatched Talorville by an 11-1 count Saturday.
The Shoes jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second with four runs and ended the game in the fifth via the 10-run rule.
Both teams had five hits. T-town was led by Owen Wermert with a single, triple and thre RBI, Kason Meyer a with double and two RBI and Myles Hoene with a triple. Maddux Pals had a single and two RBI.
Kaleb Bueker went five innings, giving up one run on five hits, one walk and striking out five.

Stewardson-Strasburg ran out to a 7-0 opening inning lead and went on to claim a 24-0 victory over Breese All Saints.
The Hatchets finished with 16 hits as Tate Thompson had two doubles and three RBI, Jacob Howe a home run and thre RBI, Max Kull two singles and three RBI, Will Worman two singles and two RBI and Casen Boyer two singles and an RBI.
Ty Kramer gave up only one hit, striking out five in two innings.
Stew-Stras took on Greenville and was a 17-4 winner behind an 11-hit attack.
Stew-Stras led 9-1 after three innings and never looked back. Garrett Worman had a double and three RBI while Adam Pruemer had a single, double and an RBI. Ty Kramer had two singles and five RBI. Howe added two singles and an RBI and Max McCormick had two singles. Kull finished with a single and an RBI.
Pruemer was the winning pitcher going four innings, giving up one run on two hits, one walk and striking out six.
The Comets are now 16-1 on the season.

Parker Phillips went five innings in guiding Effingham St. Anthony to a 9-4 victory over St. John’s Lutheran Saturday.
Phililps allowed only one hit, two walks while keeping St. John’s players off the basepaths with 12 strikeouts.
The Bullpups edged out to a 1-0 lead in the second, tacked on three runs in the third and sixth around two runs in the fifth.
Reed Schumacher had two doubles and an RBI while Eli Bales and Luke Roewe had two singles and two RBI each. Paxton Coulter added a double.
