TAYLORVILLE — Effingham Junior High School easily handled Taylorville in junior high baseball action Wednesday by a 14-0 count.
The Mustangs moved into a 3-0 lead in the third inning, then tacked on single runs in the fourth and fifth, three in the sixth and finished out with six in the seventh.
Effingham had eight hits and was aided by seven Taylorville errors and by drawing eight walks.
Kael Koeberlein led the way in hitting with a triple and three RBI. Deek Thompson had a double and an RBI while Calvin Beck had two singles and two RBI. Brody Nelson added a single and two RBI and Miles Patnaude a single and an RBI.
Koeberlein also picked up the pitching victory. He went six innings giving up only one hit, no walks while striking out five.

At Strasburg
Stewardson-Strasburg’s Adam Pruemer tossed a no-hitter in a 15-0 victory over North Clay Wednesday.
Pruemer went the three innings, giving up only one walk while striking out six.
Meanwhile, Stew-Stras had nine hits led by Garrett Worman with a double and two RBI, Noah Friese with two singles and an RBI, Jacob Howe and Max McCormick with a single and two RBI each and Johnny Richter and Max Kull with a single and an RBI each. Adam Pruemer added an RBI.
Stew-Stras is now 7-1 in the National Trail Conference, 13-1 overall.
North Clay had one runner on base as Washburn drew a walk. North Clay dropped to 2-7 in the National Trail Conference and 3-9 overall.

Cumberland jumped on board in the first inning with 12 runs and went on to end this game after three innings over Newton St. Thomas by a 15-0 count Wednesday.
C. Burns tossed a n-hitter over the three innings, giving up two walks while striking out four.
B. Clapp had a single, triple and three RBI while H. Cisney had a single, double and two RBI. J. Sherrick, C. Goss and B. Aaron had a single and two RBI each. A. Dittamore and C. Shepard finished with a single and an RBI each.
