DIETERICH — Dieterich scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 5-4 victory over Effingham Sacred Heart in junior high baseball Thursday.
Dieterich held a 2-0 opening inning lead. Sacred Heart moved ahead 3-2 in the top of the third but Dieterich tied in the bottom of the frame. Sacred Heart led 4-3 in the top of the seventh but Dieterich came back for the win.
Landon McQueen went the distance, allowing four runs on 11 hits. He did not give up a walk and struck out two.
Dieterich had six hits, three singles by Chase Bohnhoff. Nolan Nussmeyer and Maddox Nichols had a single and an RBI each.
Sacred Heart was led by Gabe Traub with a single, home run and one RBI, Lucas McDevitt with three singles, Jackson LaSarge with two singles and two RBI and Bryce Hayes with two singles and an RBI.

Effingham St. Anthony was on a hitting binge, banging out 15 hits and scoring 15 runs in a 15-3 victory over Taylorville Thursday.
The Bulldogs ran out to a 6-2 opening inning lead and tallied four more in the second. The game ended in the fifth.
St. Anthony had 15 hits led by Parker Phillips with a single, triple and four RBI, Reed Schumacher and Sam Vineyard with a single and double each. Schumacher had two RBI and Vineyard one. Bentley Baudier had two singles and two RBI, Eli Bales two singles and an RBI, Brooks Niebrugge and Jaxon Having had two singles each and Luke Roewe a single and three RBI.
Vineyard went two innings for the pitching victory. He allowed two runs on three hits, three walks and struck out four.

Cumberland hosted Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and claimed an 11-0 win in five innings Thursday.
Cumberland took a 3-0 opening inning lead, then tacked on a single run in the third and finished with a seven-run fourth.
The Raiders’ H. Cisney tossed a one-hitter with one walk and nine strikeouts.
Cumberland had eight hits led by J. Sherrick with a double and two RBI, B. Clapp with a double and an RBI, T. Holsapple with two singles and three RBI, C. Goss with two singles and an RBI, G. Murphy with a single and two RBI and A. Dittamore with a single and an RBI.
CHBC’s hit was a single by Luke Roadarmel.

Stewardson-Strasburg ended this game in the fourth inning against Sullivan by a 15-0 tally.
Three Stew-Stras pitchers combined to throw a one-hitter. Johnny Richter went two innings, did not give up a hit, allowed one walk and struck out three for the win. Adam Pruemer went 1.67 innings, allowing one hit, one walk and stirking out three. Garrett Worman went .33.
Richter had a double and drove in two runs while Pruemer had three singles and two RBI, Max McCormick had two singles and three RBI, Noah Friese two singles and an RBI, Will Worman a single and two RBI and Tate Thompson a single and an RBI.
The Comets are now 9-1 on the season.
