Salem Franklin Park came calling and handed Effingham a 3-1 loss in junior high baseball action Monday.

Franklin Park edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead and tallied two in the third. The Mustangs had only one run in the fifth.

Franklin Park had four hits and Effingham only two.

Deek Thompson and Roman Martin had a single each for Effingham.

The Mustangs committed three errors and gave up five walks.

At Effingham

Brownstown/St. Elmo picked up a 9-6 victory over Effingham Sacred Heart Monday.

BSE had nine hits and was aided by six Shamrock errors. Wright led the way with three singles and two RBI, Schaub two singles and two RBI, Schnarre a single and two RBI and Morrison a triple.

The Shamrocks finished with 10 hits. Lucas McDevitt and Jackson LaSarge had two singles each. Gabe Traub and Bryce Hayes finished with a single and two RBI while Logan Schoenhoff had a single and an RBI.

L. Miller went 4.2 innings, giving up three runs on five hits, three walks and striking out two for the win on the mound.

Cumberland had a 12-hit attack and handed North Clay an 11-1 loss in five innings via the 10-run rule Monday.

The Raiders were led in hitting by B. Clapp and J. Sherrick with three singles each. Clapp had an RBI. A. Dittamore had two singles and three RBI, G. Murphy finished with two singles and an RBI ad A. Sherrick had an RBI.

Clapp picked up the pitching victory, going five innings, allowing one run on four hits, two walks while striking out 10.

At Sigel

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and Sigel St. Michael finished with a 7-7 tie Monday.

The Bobcats moved into a 4-2 lead in the second inning and led 5-4 in the fourth. St. Michael came back with two runs in the fifth to move ahead 6-5. But CHBC scored two in the sixth to lead 7-6. St. Michael then tied in the bottom of the sixth and the game was called.

Tyce Kircher, Curtis Bethel, Luke Roadarmel, Remington Strange and Ben Noble had one hit each for the Bobcats. Bethal, Strange and Roadarmel had two RBI and Kircher had one.

The Sharpshooters had six hits but only first names were listed.
