Effingham Junior High School blanked Hillsboro by a 13-0 count in four junior high baseball innings Thursday.
The Mustangs edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead then added on four in the second and finished with seven in the third.
Kael Koeberlein went three innings, giving up only one hit, one walk and striking out five for the pitching victory. Brody Nelson came on to toss the final inning, striking out all three batters.
Effingham had eight hits and was aided by four errors and seven walks.
Koeberlein helped his own cause with a single, double and three RBI. Peyton O’Dell added a triple and two RBI while Deek Thompson finished with a single, double and three RBI. Adam LeDuc added two singles and an RBI.

Stewardson-Strasburg moved into a 2-0 lead in the first inning then held off Teutopolis for a 2-1 victory Thursday.
Adam Pruemer took the win on the mound, going five innings, striking out 10 while allowing only one walk and two hits. Johnny Richter came on for the save, finishing the final two innings, giving up one run, one walk and striking out three.
The two pitchers were also on offensively. Pruemer had a single, double and an RBI while Richter had a single and an RBI.
T-town was led by M. Pals with a double.

Effingham St. Anthony put together a 10-run first inning and downed Flora Floyd Henson, 12-1 in five innings Thursday.
The Bullpups had eight hits and were aided by eight Flora errors. Brody Myers, Sam Vineyard, Parker Phillips, Bentley Bauer and Jaxon Having all had a single and an RBI each. Kolin Kiefer and Brooks Niebrugge added an RBI each.
Luke Roewe pitched two innings for the victory. He allowed one hit and struck out two.

Cumberland edged out to a 2-1 opening inning lead and then opened up a seven-run third for a 10-3 victory over South Central Thursday.
The Raiders finished with six hits led by A. Dittamore with a single, two doubles and three RBI. B. Clapp and G. Murphy had a single and an RBI each while C. Burns added two RBI.
Dittamore was the winning pitcher. He went 4.2 innings, giving up two runs on four hits, four walks and striking out seven.
South Central was led in hitting by R. Lane with a single and double, B. Skibinski with a double and E. Garner and K. Hall with a single and an RBI each.

Shelbyville defeated Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 13-3 in five innings Thursday.
Brody Cox drew a walk and made his way around the bases scoring first for the Bobcats.
But Shelbyville came back with two runs in the bottom of the second to move ahead and never looked back in the victory.
CHBC had only one hit, a single by Tyce Kircher.
The Bobcats will be hosting a tournament Saturday. In the opening game, CHBC will meet Mulberry Grove at 9 a.m. Martinsville and Vandalia square off at 11 a.m. The losers meet for third place at 1 p.m. and the winners for the championship at 3 p.m.
All games will be played at Beecher City Park. Concessions will be available at the softball diamond with sandwiches, chips and pop for sale.

Eastern Caraway had two singles and a triple for the winners. Liam Schnarre went 3 1/3 innings in relief, allowing one hit and striking out four.
ALIS scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth.
At Louisville
Effingham Sacred Heart blanked North Clay, 11-0 Thursday.
North Clay returns to play Friday at Altamont Lutheran in a 4:30 p.m. contest.
