 Shelby County Senior Legion Finishes Second At Division Tournament

Shelby County Senior Legion Post 611 competed in the double-elimination Senior Legion Division Baseball Tournament and finished second.

Shelby County defeated Christian County 9-3 in the quarterfinals. Shelby County moved into a 3-0 opening inning lead and finished with a 10-hit attack.

Keegan Schultz had a double, home run and two RBI while Blake Mueller had two singles, a double and two RBI. Ben Bridges finished with a single and two RBI.

Kendall Morris picked up the pitching victory, going four innings, allowing no runs on one hit, five walks and striking out 12.

Danville Post 210 then bounced Shelby County by a 20-9 count in six innings. Shelby County tallied four runs in the first, two in the fourth and three in the sixth. But Danville Post 210 went on a run to end the game in the sixth.

Shelby Co. was led by Bridges with a double and two RBI and Jackson Gurgel with two singles and an RBI. Kaidyn Miller and Mueller had a single and two RBI each.

In the third contest, Shelby County was an 8-5 winner over Christian County.

Both teams had only three hits. Shelby Co. was led by Mueller with a double and an RBI and Gurgel with two singles.

In the championship contest, Danville Post 180 came out with the big bats, picking up 16 hits to hand Shelby Co. a 12-2 loss in six innings.

Danville moved into a 3-0 opening inning lead, tacked on five more in the second and four in the sixth.

C. Miller had a single, knocked out two home runs and finished with eight RBI for the winners.

Shelby Co. was led by Koeberlein with two singles and an RBI and Miller with two singles.
