Virginia Mae Glover, age 82, of Louisville, Illinois passed away peacefully at 7:39 pm Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born September 20, 1942, in Iola, Illinois, to Herman and Nellie (Mears) Jones, Virginia’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith, adventurous spirit, and deep love for family.
Virginia married John W. “Jack” Glover on June 20, 1961, in Flora, Illinois, beginning a cherished partnership that spanned 53 years. They shared a life filled with love and companionship until Jack’s passing on July 3, 2014.
A woman of profound faith, Virginia was a dedicated member of the North Harter Christian Church, where she cherished her church family and held a special place in her heart for her minister, Joe Smith. Her spirit was as vibrant as the nature she loved. Virginia possessed a wanderlust, embracing opportunities to travel and explore new places. She found immense joy in being near water, whether a tranquil lake or the vast ocean. A true outdoorswoman, she delighted in tending her garden, cultivating vibrant blooms, and embarking on mushroom hunting expeditions. Above all, Virginia treasured her family, spending every precious moment she could with her loved ones.
She is survived by her children: Nancy Frazier of Louisville, Karen Glassford of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Michael (Penny) Glover of Louisville, Jennifer Glover of Louisville; a bonus child: Rhonda Brown of Flora; 5 grandchildren: Theresa Frazier of Louisville, Joshua Frazier of Louisville, Tabithia (Matt) Melvin of Chicago, Devin Bible of Olney, Mandy (Jake) King of Edgewater, Florida; 8 great grandchildren: Hudson Bible, Deacon Bible, Holland, Bible, Tyson King, Arianna Frazier, Ariel Frazier, Arin Frazier, Tabitha Frazier; a sister: Madonna Holloway of Flora.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson: Brandon Frazier; daughter-in-law: Janet Wasson; 2 brothers: Dempsey Jones and Gary Jones; and her beloved fur baby: Bo.
