James Leo ‘Jimmy’ Feezel, 65, of Brownstown was taken in Jesus’ arms at 7:10 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025 at Haven of St. Elmo.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown with Don Thomas and Dave Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Avena. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6. Memorials may be made to FAYCO or the donor’s choice.
Jimmy was born on Monday, December 28, 1959 in Effingham, IL to James W. ‘Bill’ and Laura Ann (Rush) Feezel. Jimmy attended FAYCO for many years, at first working mornings at McDonald’s in Vandalia then going to FAYCO in the afternoon. He graduated from Jefferson School in Vandalia. He went to church at Fairview until it closed and was currently attending Emmanuel Church. He loved baseball and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He is survived by: his mother, Laura Feezel of Brownstown and his brother, Joe (Tina) Feezel of Brownstown; niece, Randi Feezel (friend, Eric); nephew, Ryan Feezel (friend, Tabitha); great nephew, Orin Hays; great nieces, Aurora and Octavia Feezel; aunt, Georgianna Schultz and many cousins.
Jimmy was preceded in death by: his father, maternal grandparents, Leo and Lucy Rush, and paternal grandparents, James and Lucy Feezel.
