Darren Durbin, 59, of St. Elmo, died at 3:16 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.

The family is thankful for the many prayers and comforting words. There will be a celebration of Darren’s life at Barn & Bottle Winery in Altamont on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Darren D. Durbin was born to David C. and Lila D. (Torbeck) Durbin on March 1, 1966 in Centralia and was raised in Farina. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where he married Tammy S. Mahon on September 9, 1989. Darren moved to St. Louis in 1991 where he started a family and accepted a job at Tin Man Enterprises as a production manager. He ventured out on his own forming Pro CD, an audio duplication business, in the early 2000’s. He spent the majority of his career at S&S Urethane & Ceramics in Farina as a sales and project manager. He possessed a genuine care for people and it was evident in everything he did. Many of his customers became friends—some even felt like family. His loss will be felt not only within the organization but throughout the industry he specialized. Darren was a car enthusiast and avid gun collector. He cherished his calm home on the lake, where feeding squirrels and playing cards brought him quiet joy. Darren’s thoughtful nature, humor and quick-wit will be greatly missed.

He is survived by; his son, Kyle (Kyley) Durbin, Imperial, MO; mother, Lila Durbin, Farina; sister, Sherri (Don) VonBehren, Altamont and brother, Brady Durbin (fiancé Susan Fuesting), Effingham.

He was preceded in death by his father.
